MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL

December 22. 2015 6:25 PM

I have very exciting news that I wanted to share with you all and it's kind of obvious because of the title, but I'm starting a YouTube channel! I had a YouTube channel for a while now, but don't really upload videos anymore. When I did start my YouTube, I did a lot of Kpop related things from dance covers to music video reactions. I'm actually pretty embarrassed by all my pass videos, but will leave them up because I did work hard to make them back then. A lot has changed since the last time I posted in high school and wanted to start over with a new concept. I want to be able to work on all different types of social media platforms, so I want to really showcase my Fashion and Faith walk on YouTube. I also just starting vlogging and just posted up my first vlog. You can check it down below.

Please, be patient with me because I'm just learning how to film and do video editing. This vlog is pretty shaky and blurry, but hey I tried. I filmed this on the day of my last exam and celebrated with some friends as we went ice skating! I love to ice skate and had a  great time trying to rid myself of all the stressed I went through during the semester. I hope to get my YouTube running smoothly by next year and hope you guys would subscribe. The link to my YouTube is here. Hope you enjoyed my video and God Bless!

DRESSLINK WISHLIST

December 21, 2015 7:45 PM

Sorry for the long delay in post, but I just got done with my Fall semester and just finished all my exams. This semester was the toughest semester yet and I'm happy it's all over! On to the blog post... I got contacted by Dresslink about getting a small sponsorship with them. Dress link is an online wholesale shop that sells super affordable clothing. So, because there are four days till Christmas, I decided to do a Dresslink Wishlist. I have shopped from a lot of Asian wholesale shops, including Dresslink, and there is always risk in buying online, but I think Dresslink at most has reasonable products with reasonable prices. I'm just going to list a few products from Dresslink that I would love to get and maybe you guys might want to get also!

Item One: Festive Fur

What's better than rocking a totally chic fur vest for the holidays and winter? I think fur can transform an entire outfit and make it look more sophisticated and festive. I've been trying to find myself an affordable vest fur and I just can't find one for the price I want. I think this fur vest is totally worth the purchase. It's only $5.69 and comes in all kinds of colors. Plus, the reviews on it are great. You could pair this vest with a sassy dress or pair it with a pair of basic skinny jeans. I can see so many ways I can wear this vest and think it would make an awesome addition to anyones wardrobe. I can't wait for this one to come in the mail! Link to vest ---> http://bit.ly/1IoZEwD

Item Two: Statement Shades

Guys, I think I'm getting addicted to buying sunglasses! I'm thinking of starting a sunglass collection. (not really thinking of starting one, but already starting one hehehe) These would be a perfect addition to my collection because I love the reflective lens and silver details on the frame. These just have the perfect combination of an edgy vibe and statement look. Another plus is that they have them in different lens colors and cost only $2.99. I tend to buy cheaper glasses because I usually lose my sunglasses or break them easily. So, knowing myself I would rather spend under $10 on a decent pair than an expensive pair I could probably lose in a month. These would make any outfit stand out in a crowd and would also be a good Christmas gift. Link to sunglasses ----> http://bit.ly/1J3QZzI

Item Three: Chunky Beanies

Other than my sunglass collection, I have a pretty large hat collection from snapbacks, beanies, and fedoras. One of my favorite hats are chunky knit beanies because they keep your head warm and gives off a super relax touch to my outfits. I love buying basic knit beanies because it gives me the opportunity to be a little creative. I can sew on embellishments, iron on patches, or screw in studs.  I think these would be a good gift to give and to make it more personal by decking it out. These hats each cost $1.81. They are super affordable and you could get each friend one!

♥Dresslink:  http://bit.ly/1RFbXrl
♥$0.01 Items:  http://bit.ly/1MvaOuu
♥Free Shipping Items:  http://bit.ly/1mgdeYD

These were just a few items I would personal get and think you guys would enjoy them also. Please, go and check out Dresslink and tell me what would you get. Hope you guys like the items I picked and I think they would make good Christmas presents! Until next time, God Bless!

Thanksgiving

November 26, 2015 6:12PM

Thanksgiving is probably one of my favorite holidays because it's usually spent with good food, good friends and family, but of course good conversations. I know a lot of people don't know what they have to be grateful for and Thanksgiving is a good day to just reflect on the daily blessings God provides for us. It's not only good to reflect, but to also share. Thanksgiving is truly giving thanks and that means sharing with others our blessings. Today, society is so busy and so focused on our motions. Mindlessly, doing our work or activities. Living in the motions, but never the moment. Sometimes we get so caught up in this thing called "life" and fail to even notice that God is with us. When I feel like I have nothing to be thankful for, I am reminded of His love and blessings and I think this video from Igniter Media sums this thought really well.

Many of us are so blessed to have so many things, weather it's a house, clothes, a job, sight, a healthy body, and so on. This video always convicts me because it really shows the truth behind our selfish and ungrateful thinking. Praying to God about foolish things instead of thanking Him. I struggle with this from time to time, but somehow God is always shown to me mysteriously. He knows everything I need and that is to dwell in him or to live in Him. This Thanksgiving I can say that I am truly blessed and I want to share to you guys my many blessings, but first here is a bible verse that really speaks to me:

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."

1 Chronicles 16:34

This verse speaks loud in my heart because even if it doesn't feel like we have anything to feel thankful for, we should at least be thankful to have a good God who's love is everlasting and infinite. This very fact makes me want to give thanks every moment of my life!

We usually hold Thanksgiving at my house with just the immediate family, which include all my siblings and my parents. We cook our favorite dishes like sweet pork, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and corn beef. (Yes, no turkey. It's over-rated) But, this year I had the pleasure to celebrate with my two best friends, Amy and Kee, in the morning and later at night with my cousins at their house. My best friend, Amy, just turn 22 years old and we celebrated her birthday and Thanksgiving. It's been almost three months since we hung out because we are all doing our separate things and don't have much time to see each other. It was really nice to just relax, catch up, and eat Pho. (In the photo above it's me on the left, Amy in the middle, and Kee to the right.)

After brunch with the girls, I went over to my cousins place. The food was great, especially the mac and cheese and ham. This Thanksgiving was actually a very special and sweet one for my cousins, but of course for me too. A lot has taken place with my cousins actually. This was the first time in more than five years that my cousins family have all been together. It was a really nice feeling to see old faces and get to know how everyone was doing. There were a lot of happy emotions and the atmosphere was super festive. After dinner, we played a huge game of Mafia. If you don't know what Mafia is, it's basically a card game where you have to find who is the part of the Mafia. You can probably look it up. It was super fun, we play it every time we meet up together. Later at night, the madness kicks in with Black Friday shopping. I'm not the one to go Black Friday Shopping on Thursday, but I was able to get some good finds Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Maybe I'll probably write another post of my shopping finds later on.

We also meet up Friday night to go midnight bowling, to have fun while everyone is in town. I'm not a big bowler, but it was super fun and my arm is super sore now. We played for like four hours straight. I was  practicing my curving skills and surprising did pretty well. I'm so glad and thank God daily for blessing me so such a beautiful family. This Thanksgiving was probably one of the most memorable ones. I hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving and were able to share your blessing with one another. I would love to hear about your Thanksgiving or blessing, please share them in the comments below. I read all my comments. Until next time, God Bless!

Fall 2015 School Lookbook

November 8, 2015 9:37PM

These are some outfits that I wear to school. These outfits are more for the warmer climate places during the Fall season. I might make an update post for cooler climate outfits later into Fall/Winter. My style switches up depending on how I feel in the morning and how the weather is that day. I hope you guys are able to grab inspiration from my looks and I want to know which looks were you favorites, so comment down below. Photo credits to my friend Panyia Xiong.

OUTFIT ONE: MONOCHROME MONDAYS

On Mondays, I usually always want to dress as comfortable as possible because it's well Monday. I don't feel like putting too much effort on Mondays, so I go for easy pieces, but still want to make it look put together. This outfit is one of my favorite go to outfits, if I feel like being comfortable. Instead of wearing jeans, I put on a pair of faux leather leggings that make the outfit still look chic. I bought these off of eBay. My shirt I actually DIY. I bought a men's x-large button up from Goodwill and slim the side seams and took off the sleeves. Super easy DIY and it looks super classic in my wardrobe. I wore my black cardigan for some warmth. Then I paired the look off with my black snap-back, silver chain necklace, and Nikes. I'll try to link similar pieces, if I can't find the originals.
To purchase click--> 1. White Button Down Dress 2. Leggings 3. Black Cardigan 4. Baseball Hat 5. Silver Chain Necklace 6. Nikes

OUTFIT TWO: AUTUMN ROMANCE

The weather today was super warm, so I decided to wear something more light and flowy. I actually bought the floral kimono top from Goodwill like two years back and never wore it. I fell in love with the floral print and color, but never knew how to wear it, so decided to finally wear it with a simple flared knit black dress. I think that the kimono has such a romantic feel and the pink lace trim around the edge looks even more romantic and girly. I finished the outfit off with simple black booties that I got as a gift and a gold stud necklace I also got as a gift.
To purchase click---> 1. Black Dress 2. Black Booties

OUTFIT THREE: ON EDGE

On this day, I actually had a class presentation in my Fashion Design course. I presented my Fall 2016 collection for the London base brand All Saints. I wanted to dress like my brand, hence the leather jacket and monochrome color scheme. I brought my jacket on a Asian wholesale website a couple years back and just love the fit. My dress I bought from Goodwill, but it was originally from Target. I pair my look with my Charlotte Russe booties that make me feel confident and that's what I need most when presenting. My outfit is super minimal, but still super fashionable.

 OUTFIT FOUR: MINIMAL GRUNGE

I like how this outfit is super causal, but still has a modern grunge look. Instead of the classic blue jeans, I wanted to add more interest with these light gray wash jeans. I bought these pants actually at the girl's kids section at Target. My legs aren't that long, so kid jeans fit me perfectly. My favorite part of this outfit has to be the choker. Like what I said in my previous post on Fall 2015 trends, chokers are making a big hit and I am totally loving the trend with v-neck necklines. I feel like the choker makes my outfit more mature and adds the grungy vibe. Every time I put my hair up, I need to cover my neck either with a scarf or a collar shirt, but my favorite are chokers. The black cardigan is the same one from the first outfit. If you don't have a basic black cardigan, you need one because I wear mines like crazy. Then I paired my look with ankle buckled booties from Target. I really like Target because I can always find a good deal.

OUTFIT FIVE: FREE FRIDAYS

On Fridays, I don't have any classes, but find myself at school regardless because of homework. I kind of realize that most of my outfits are all monochromatic! I should have just made a monochromatic lookbook, oh well. (maybe later) Anyways, this outfit is very comfy and still very modern chic. I've been seeing a lot of fashion icons wearing varsity sweaters, so I thought I should buy one for my wardrobe. I got mine from Sears for only five bucks. I usually don't ever shop at Sears, but I happen to go shopping with my mom and stumble into this sweater. It was a little chilly this day, so I wore my black skinny jeans. For warmer days, I would tuck in the sweater in a black leather skirt or shorts.

I hope you guys liked my looks and if you guys have any ideas of what I should do in the future comment below, I would love to hear them. For any questions or comment, comment down below. have a lovely day and God bless!

The Power of Prayer

November 8, 2015 8:10PM

I'm going to try to write bi-weekly devotionals and let you guys know what I'm studying and what I'm going through. This week I wanted to go over the power of prayer. I recently just ended a 40 day fast last week Friday. I started this fasting with a group of girls from my church and decided to fast soda and watching YouTube before bed. I tend to drink a lot of soda and not enough of water and decided to give up on YouTube before bed because I would spend hours on my smart phone watching meaningless videos. I started to notice that my excessive YouTube watching was effecting my sleep and probably my vision. In return of not drinking soda and watching YouTube, I wanted to spend time writing in a prayer journal. For many years, I've struggled with in my prayer life.

My faith walk has been shaky many times and I struggled to have a daily prayer life. I knew how important prayer was and how powerful it was too. In church, we emphasize prayer a lot and we pray together a lot. But, deep down I felt like prayer didn't do much. I didn't see the importance of it because I couldn't see the results of it. I know that God is with us everywhere and at all times. But inside of me grew a small doubt and insecurity that God wasn't listening and that made me turn away from prayer. I never really shared this with many people because I felt like it was just a small struggle that didn't really matter.

In doing the fast, I struggled really hard to write prayers in my journal. I actually took the easy way out and recorded myself on my phone because I was too lazy to write it. I probably prayed only like twice a week. I usually would just lay in bed and pray, but end up thinking of something else and never finish my prayer. In this fast, I wanted it to be more personal, more focused, and more intentional. So, instead of praying lying in bed, I prayed on my knees by my bed. Kneeling made my prayers feel so much more spiritual and made it more like I was surrendering myself to Him. It gave me the sense that I was so weak and so undeserving, which I am. Praying is what I need daily because I am always in need of His grace, His mercy, His forgiveness, His love, and just Him.

Currently in school, I’m taking a theology class called Faith and Community. One of the readings that were listed for the course was a book called “Why We Pray,” by William Philip. Although, this book was required on the syllabus we ended up not even reading it. Still I bought the book and it seems interesting, so I took a look inside. Philip writes in the first chapter, “The most important question to ask first about prayer is – Why? Why do we pray? Not, why should we pray?” This book really goes into why we pray (hence the title) and shows the significance prayer has. It also references a lot of biblical backup, so that was a definite plus for me. I would encourage you guys to get this book, if you’re interested about why people pray. I’ll have a link right here --> Why We Pray

Prayer is something that is important to me because it shows the relationship I have with God. If I think about the relationships I have with my friends, it all starts with communication. Verbally talking to them and getting to know them more. Communication is pretty much the key thing that connects people. In the same way, it applies to the relationship we have with God. In order to know him more, we must have communication with him and that is only found through prayer. Prayer is really just talking with him. Although, we know God is with us everywhere and knows everything about us, prayer is how God knows we want a personal relationship with him. When I pray, I get a sense of thankfulness and joy that I am able to communicate with Him and let Him into my life. Prayer doesn’t have to be long or spoken out loud, but it should be faith filled.

In prayer, the focus should be how thankful we are to have Him and to have what we have. The struggles that we face and the healing we need, plus the struggles of those around us. Asking him to forgive us, to seek him, to want to know him more, to let him guide us, and to just ask Him for our needs. Prayer means being honest with God and letting yourself be vulnerable. Opening your heart, your mind, yourself to let him really help you and use you. Although, we pray and don't see the signs of how prayer effects our life, we have to have faith and trust that God will provide and that His will will be done. God likes to test our patience because He knows whats in our hearts and wants us to work in His time and not ours. God has a purpose for everything and we just need to let his plans unfold before us. I encourage all of you to start praying or to start a prayer journal. My prayer journal is just like a diary, but a diary of my relationship with God. I start off every prayer entry with  Dear Heavenly Father. Make your prayers meaningful and intentional. I wanted to leave you guys with a these passages from the bible;

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will
find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone
who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to
him who knocks, the door will be opened."

Matthew 7:7-8

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present
your request to God. And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:6-7

I pray that you guys took something out of this devotion and hope you guys can reflect about this in your life. If you guys have any questions or prayer request please tell me. I would love to answer your questions and pray for you. Until next time, God Bless!

Gloomy Fall Days

October 26, 2015 8:02PM

Surprisingly, I've been having a lot more free time on my hands and just wanted to post some pictures of a shoot I took of some close friends of mine and of myself. If you didn't already know, I do photography on the side as a hobby and love taking pictures of fashion, but also human relationships. Nothing is more precious than a love that someone has for another weather it be a friend, a sister, a brother, a spouse, and so on. I love to capture moments of awkwardness, silliness, happiness, and even seriousness. If you want to check out some of my work please check out my Facebook at Less Than Three Photography.

Hehe, I really like these photos. They are too adorable and look super cute! Here are some photos of myself taken by my friend Goldhlis (the girl with bangs on top) after I shot their photos. It was almost 5:30 by then, so the pictures were pretty dark and that day was really gloomy and rainy anyways. But, we definitely didn't let the weather defeat out photo shoot. With a touch of Photoshop to brighten up the photos, they came out great.

I wanted to go for a more "naturery" theme so I bundled up with knits and messy hair. I really like the mix of textures and natural colors. I would love to hear your comments on these photos and hope you guys enjoyed them. God bless!

Fall 2015 Trends: Fall Lookbook

October 18, 2015 7:42PM

Hey Everyone, I'm back with a Fall Lookbook and with some Fall 2015 fashion trends happening now! I'm really excited to share with you all these looks I've put together. I'm loving all the Fall trends and I'm loving these photos because I feel like I look so mature. This might sound weird because people are afraid of aging, but I love looking more mature and older because for so long people mistake me for a high school student. So, for me to look more mature is awesome! By the way, these pictures were all taken by a talented photographer. You can find them on facebook at Love KC Photography. Please, go and check them out because they work so hard and do amazing shoots. I hope you guys enjoy my Fall 2015 Lookbook!

Trend One: Choker

This is probably one of my favorite trends because I love how it makes the whole outfit look more elevated and sophisticated. I think its like a modern and more mature look of the 90's chokers. Chokers have been making a comeback this past summer and I think it's going to transform into the skinny choker or turtleneck necklace. Another similar trend that falls into the skinny choker is the skinny scarf. I've been seeing a lot of stores pick-up the skinny scarf trend, but I think that the skinny choker is something that is super affordable and is a quick diy. It's been all over the runways and has been hitting up the streets. I love the look with a v-neck neckline because it emphasizes the collar bones and gives a more attractive vibe. Instead of wearing it more formal or business like, I decided to wear it more sporty and street like to match my personal style. I actually designed the dress and choker combo in a night because I was feeling really inspired and wanted to share to you guys this trend. I paired the look with my leather jacket, transparent grid socks, and my high top Jordan ones.

Trend Two: Indigenous Influence

This trend is definitely channeling the 70's. The tribal or ethnic trend has been really on the rise these past couple seasons and they have made a run into the 70's. With the rustic colors, suede fabrics, tribal prints, bell shape sleeves, and fringe. These styles were going wild on the runways and are even going wilder in the stores. Although, tribal prints and bright colors aren't my thing, I wore the trend super simple and minimal. You got to stay true to your style, but still be trendy. I bought this vintage accordion pleated Hmong skirt when I went on a trip to Thailand last summer. Probably one of the best things I bought on the entire trip. I wore a black rib knit turtle sweater on top that I bought from Old Navy for only 97 cents (the best 97 cents I've ever spent) and slipped into my black booties I bought from Charlotte Russe. I'm not so big on jewelry, but I decided to put on these amazing earrings I bought at Walmart for only three dollars.

Trend Three: Mixing Textures and Layers

This trend is the most easy and versatile to wear because it's a staple trend that happens every year. I like to play with fabrics and mixing different weights and textures. On the runways, they usually have an over load of layers, but with the right amount of layers and textures you can pull off the look effortlessly. I recently bought this jacket last month from Forever 21 and actually bought a black shearing jacket also because they were having a buy one get one free deal. I've been wanting a shearing jacket in my wardrobe for awhile now and am so excited to wear this jacket this Fall. In this outfit, I wore a basic black tee under my tan shearing jacket and paired it off with my black pu leather skinnies. I like the look of soft textures with more edgy fabrics like leather. To add a pop of color and print I threw over my favorite flowy scarf to create more interest and fluidity. I accessorized with my messenger bag and lace-up black booties. These are probably my most favorite pictures because I look so mature.

Trend Four: Turtleneck Sweaters

Believe it or not, I was actually pretty on the fence with this trend last year and didn't really like the trend. But I got to say that I love it now. Turtleneck sweaters are super comfy and warm. I like more of the over sized look because the sweater is already so warm that I would just want to wear a pair of leggings under and the sweater has to be long enough to cover my butt and crotch area to be able to wear leggings because legging are NOT pants. Leggings are the one trend that usually makes me go crazy because girls always wear them as pant, when they are clearly NOT pants... Anyways, I thrifted this sweater from Goodwill as well as my black clutch bag. I decided to pair the sweater with a more fitted bottom, so I wore this black lace pencil skirt and slipped on my black booties once again. I accessorized this outfit with a wide brim hat that I bought on eBay for five dollars.

I hope you guys enjoyed my looks and trends and would love to hear your comments on which trends or outfits you liked. You guys should totally try some of these trends out and stay true to your style. Hoping all of you guys are enjoying these Fall trends as much as I do. See ya guys soon. God bless!

City Distractions

September 22, 2015 1:14PM

Here's a quick look from my trip to Chicago yesterday. I had a good time with friends and shopping down Michigan Avenue. Please like, comment, or, hype my look on lookbook.nu if you like it. Thanks, God bless!

There was this really pretty sanctuary in the middle of the city. It had a lot of vines all over the walls and a cute fountain. I don't really match the scenery, but couldn't resist to take pictures.

SALT 2015: Renewing the mind

August 20, 2015 7:03PM

Sorry, for not posting often. I just started school and have very limited time to write blog posts. I've been working on this post for quite a while, but I finally finished it. Hope you guys enjoy. So, over summer I was blessed enough to attend a Hmong Christian Missionary Alliance (CMA) conference called SALT and I want to share my experiences with you all!!! For those who don't know what SALT is, it means Single Adults Living Triumphantly. The conference lasted five days and four nights at Wheaten College in Illinois. This conference takes place every other year for single CMA Hmong adults who want to learn more about God's will and meet new and old friends. the conference has a schedule that kind of goes like this:

                 7:30 am      Breakfast
                 9:00 am      Morning Service
                 10:30 am    Workshop One
                 11:30 am    Lunch
                 1:00 pm      Workshop Two
                 2:30 pm      Small Group
                 3:30 pm      Free time
                 5:00 pm      Dinner
                 7:00 pm      Evening Service
                 9:00 pm      Free time
                 1:00 am      Lights out

The conference is filled with different speakers from all over the US that speak about different topics at each workshop. The morning and evening service were led by some CMA pastors that taught from the book of Romans. The overall theme of the conference was based off of Romans 12:1-2.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s
mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of
worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind, Then you will be able to test and approve what
God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

I really liked the theme this year because it was just a good reminder for me that this life is not mine own and that I need to use myself for God’s will. It also reminded me of the struggle of growing up and wanting to be part of the world and to fit in with everyone, when God in fact called us to be a part of the world. The only way to be a part of the world and to renew your mind is truly from understanding and learning God’s will. I do feel very bless to have gone to SALT because I was able to take in so much and actually renew my thinking and my understanding on certain areas in my life. Some of the workshops I attend were Homosexuality, Spiritual Warfare, Women in Ministry, True Beauty, Christian Women in a Feministic World, and Sanctity over Vanity. Although most were pretty good, my favorites had to be Homosexuality and Women in Ministry. I just wanted to share a few things I learned in those two workshops.

Homosexuality: Creation over the Creator

This workshop was taught my Xf. McYoung Yang from Maplewood, Minnesota. I never seen him preach before, but I must say I really like how he teaches. Overall, his workshop was really organized with a PowerPoint and matching handouts. Everything was smoothly put together and he used many biblical references. I really did enjoy that they added this workshop because it is something so viral in our society today and needs to be address. One of the main verses he address was Romans: 1:21-28

"For this reason God gave then up to dishonorable
passions. For their women exchanged natural relations

for those that are contrary to nature; and the men
likewise gave up natural relations with women and were
consumed with passion for one another, men committing
shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the
due penalty for their error. "

Women in Ministry

This workshop was led by Naam Xf. Teng or also known as Kangza Xiong from Minnesota. I’m pretty familiar with her teaching because she and her husband used to serve at my church for a couple of years, but it’s probably been almost five years that I haven’t seen her teach. This workshop was by far my favorite because of the organization of her PowerPoint and all the biblical context she used to reveal the real will of God for women. One verse she used was Titus 2: 3-5

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in
the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to
much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can
train the younger women to love their husbands and
children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at
home to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands,
so that no one will malign the word of God."

Other part of SALT were the small groups. The picture above is my small group with our balloon animals that my talented small group leader made for us all. Small groups are a group of about ten or more people from different states and churches. The point of having small groups is to connect and meet new people so we can grow with one another spiritually and socially. I always look forward to small groups because what’s better than to meet other brothers and sisters in Christ. During small groups, the group leader leads everyone into a short lesson reviewing some points of the services. The sad part of small groups is that we only meet like three times, so it was harder to connect with one another, but that’s why I love Facebook. We were all able to friend each other and stay in touch.

I don’t want to write too much, so on to my outfits that I wore throughout the week at SALT. I only photographed my causal day outfits, instead of all my sport and formal evening service outfits. So, I have five outfits all together and will try to post where I bought each garment.

OUTFIT ONE: DAISY DREAMING
This was the most causal of my outfits because I knew that when we got there we would be doing a lot of moving around and trying to unload into our rooms. So, this outfit I wanted to stay mobile and comfortable. I got this shirt at Sheinisde and thought is was really cute and I usually don't buy bright color printed t-shirts, but I made this one an exception. My shorts were actually a pair of old pants I had that I just cut at the knee. Then, I ended the look with my adored white low-top converse.

OUTFIT TWO: BOYISH CHARMS
I really love this outfit because it's super comfortable, but looks really stylish. I've been really liking the whole boyish look, but still looking really feminine with my hair and make-up done. Although, you can't see the print on the t-shirt, it reads Balmain Paris, who is my favorite fashion designer. If you don't know him, please look him up because you are missing out!!! My favorite collection was his Fall RTW 2012. Check it out here ---> Balmain 2012 I originally bought this shirt on Sheinside, com, but they currently don't have it anymore. I featured this vest on my wedding guest outfit blog also, but I brought it awhile back. I'lll try to find a link of a similar vest. My shorts are orginally from Gap, but I bought them from Goodwill. They were boyfriend style pants that were really cute, but I decided to make them into shorts and distress them like crazy. My shoes are the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski ESP Skate Shoes and they are super comfortable.

OUTFIT THREE: BTS ARMY
This outfit is for all you kpop fans. At the same time the conference was happening, BTS (kpop boy group) was having their concert in Chicago. I was pretty sad that I didn't get to see them because I waited like a year for them to come to Chicago. But it's all good, I still represented them at the conference with this awesome shirt I bought yet again on Sheinside.com. BTS fighting, we shall meet one day. (kekeke) I paired the outfit with my self-designed faux leather jogging shorts and I tied a chambray shirt around my waist. I'm wearing the same Nike's in the previous outfit.

OUTFIT FOUR: STYLISH NERD
This outfit was actually inspired by a video I watched on YouTube. I bought the "dress" from the men's shirts at Goodwill and just chopped the sleeves off. I really like up-cycling clothing, if you couldn't tell. The dress kind of reminds me of a men's night gown. I paired the top with faux leather leggings, silver glasses necklace and my lace-up platform booties. I'll try to find links of items that resemble pieces of my outfit for you guys, because I get most of my clothing from Goodwill.

OUTFIT FIVE: LINEAR LINES
This outfit was definitely the most daring because of my socks and shoes. I always feel out of place every time I wear my creepers because people around me don't really see them too often, but I learn to not care too much about what other people think about my clothes. Fashion is a risk I'm willing to take to express myself. I really like this shirt because it just looks cool and it says Alexander Wang, one of my other fashion designers I look up to. I've been totally loving these types of style skirts, so when I saw this at Goodwill, I had to get it, plus I love the heavy quality material and color. I paired the look off with my fun grid transparent socks, creepers, and silver chain necklace.

If you made it this far, thanks so much. I tend to write a lot, but I hope you guys enjoyed reading my experience at SALT and my looks. Comment down below which outfit was your favorite or if you went to SALT, how was your experience? Tell me, I want to know :) Have a good day and God bless!

Here's a quick picture that I edited with my youth girls and I before we left to explore the city.
